Starling Radio

Radio used to come with a person attached — someone who knew the records, told you one true thing about them, and handed you songs you didn't know you wanted yet. Streaming gave us all the music ever recorded, and nobody to hand it to us. Starling is my attempt to get the person back.

Connect your listening history — or just tell it what you're into — and it builds a session from your actual taste: songs you'll be glad to hear again, next to new ones it can defend choosing. Drift, the host, talks over the transitions. When you're meeting an artist for the first time, you get a real introduction. When it plays something you've loved for years, you might learn something about it you didn't know.

Drift is an advocate, not a critic — built to help you find and support new musicians, and to craft new love for the ones already on your shelves. Rate what you hear, and the next session listens.

It plays in the browser, on Android and iOS, and holds together in the car. If you keep your own music library, it can play straight from that too.
